Grace for Rett » Grace's Life with Rett Syndrome

Grace’s wedding

Ok so it wasn’t Grace’s wedding. But it felt like it. On Saturday, Grace was a bridesmaid in our friends Jake & Betsi’s wedding. Getting her ready, I thought this might be the only wedding she will ever be a part of, including her own. So I went all the way. Blush, Chanel perfume, painted nails, curled her hair. She was stunning if I do say so myself and she basked in the admiration all day. I love the photos of her and Betsi together because she looked at Betsi like any little almost-4-year-old girl would look at a beautiful bride.

The photos below all look a bit different because some were taken with my proper camera and others with my iPhone.

Great styling Elizabeth. The dress and the chiffon flowers are very pretty. The best however, is The Beautiful Girl. Gracie is growing into quite a little lady. But then again, she seems to have always been one.
I have never been a bridesmaid, nor have I had a beautiful wedding or a wedding dress and you know what, I am just fine! Life is about the quality of impact we make on others, and Gracie has already exceeded quite a few of us!

You did her up right, Mom. Congrats! She almost showed up the bride, who was beautiful, also!

This brought tears to my eyes. One thing my husband said me a few months after Elizabeth was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome that it made him sad that he may never be able to walk his daughter down the aisle…beautiful little Gracie!
