Grace for Rett » Grace's Life with Rett Syndrome

A snapshot of life with Rett Syndrome

When Grace was born she had a secret

wheelchairs

Standing frame

the 'bee chair'

'gaiters' to help her with her arms

Too tired to lift her head (but still smiling)

45 minutes waiting for this shot...

...the rest of them cross-eyed (but so stinkin cute!)

A sleep system in her crib

her crossed eyes used to make me cringe now they make me smile

grinding teeth (still makes me cringe)

She used to to this...

...and this

...now she just does this

She used to do this

...and now she does this (for only about 5 seconds)

She smacks her lips to say 'yes'

She's been a brave little trooper...

...more than once

But no matter what, she's always got the brightest smile on her face

It really pulls at your heart strings when you see how Gracie was and how she is now (how quickly we forget), but she is such an amazing girl with THE biggest smile you could get on any child. She is also so blessed to have parents like you who readily admit how she rocks your world.
